Interim Update
To get the interim update for Citation 7.1 (release 06/22/00):

Read the Bulletins page for information about changes contained in the update and other files with changes that are available to users.

  1. Download the C71UPDT.exe file.
  2. Double click on the file icon to install the update.
  3. Read the description and instructions in the readme file.

This is a self-extracting compressed file with the interim update for Citation. This update can only be installed if you have previously installed the full version of Citation 7.1.

Note: This update will completely reinstall Citation 7.1. If you have made changes to FORMS.DEF, TUTOR.DAT, or BIB.DAT, make sure you read the prompts in the install program to prevent overwriting them.

Publishing Style Updates

5/20/01 - A number of Citation publishing styles have been modified, and forms (see below) )have been added recently to support interviews and letters more effectively, as well as republished books and articles. The links below contain self-extracting exe files with these updated files.

The fullstyles.exe file contains all publishing styles currently available in Citation.

To download and install the updated publishing style file:

  1. Close Citation.
  2. Download the fullstyles.exe file.
  3. Double click on the file icon to install the update in your citwin7 directory.
  4. Restart Citation with the updated publishing style file.

Data Entry Form Updates
A number of Citation publishing styles have been modified (see above), and forms have been added recently to support interviews and letters more effectively, as well as republished books and articles.

The citationforms.exe file contains all the new data entry forms.

To download and install the updated forms definition file:

  1. Close Citation.
  2. Download the citationforms.exe file.
  3. Double click on the file icon to install the update in your citwin7 directory.
  4. Restart Citation with the updated forms file.

Light Version of the publishing styles
A "light" edition of the publishing styles file is now also available, which contains only the major publishing styles. The light version of the publishing styles file is recommended for students and other researchers who work primarily with one or two of the major publishing styles, and do not need the full 1000 publishing styles in Citation.

You can replace this light version of the publishing styles with the full version at any time. To download and install the light edition of the styles file:

  1. Close Citation.
  2. Download the lightstyles.exe file.
  3. Double click on the file icon to install the update in your citwin7 directory.
  4. Restart Citation with the light publishing style file.

APA StyleGuide Sample Datafile
This sample datafile contains the examples from the References section of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, entered as Citation records.

Note that in order for this sample datafile to display accurate samples of the source types in the APA Manual, you will need to make certain you have the most current forms definition file for Citation.

The apasamps.exe file contains a sample datafile, as well as a Word document with the records in the apasamps datafile formatted in APA style

To download the APA Sample datafile:

  1. Download the apasamples.exe file.
  2. Double click on the file icon to install the APA sample datafile in your citwin7 directory.
  3. Click File, Open in Citation, and open the apasamps.dat datafile.
You can click on the Keyword list box to find samples for specific types of source works.

MLA StyleGuide Sample Datafile
This sample datafile contains the examples from the Preparing the List of Works Cited section of the MLA Handbook, entered as Citation records.

Note that in order for this sample datafile to display accurate samples of the source types in the MLA Handbook, you will need to make certain you have the most current forms definition file for Citation.

The mlasamps.exe file contains a sample datafile.

To download the mla Sample datafile:

  1. Download the mlasamples.exe file.
  2. Double click on the file icon to install the MLA sample datafile in your citwin7 directory.
  3. Click File, Open in Citation, and open the mlasamps.dat datafile.
You can click on the Keyword list box to find samples for specific types of source works.
